What is the minimum budget to advertise on each platform?
LinkedIn requires at least $10 per day for any ad format, and TikTok campaigns need a daily budget above $50, according to each platform’s own help pages.[6][7]
| Platform | Minimum | Source |
|---|---|---|
| $10 daily budget (any ad format); $100 lifetime budget for new campaigns; suggested $25/day for new advertisers | LinkedIn [6] | |
| TikTok | Campaign daily budget above $50; ad group daily budget above $20 | TikTok [7] |
What does an engaged visitor really cost?
More than the click price. Some clicks are fraudulent, and many visitors leave without engaging. Adjusting for both changes which channel looks cheapest.
- The global paid-click fraud rate reached 5.58% in H1 2026.[8]
- GA4 engagement rates differ sharply by channel: paid search 60.4%, display 31.9%, paid social 20.2%.[9]
| Channel | Avg. CPC | Engagement rate | Cost per engaged session |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google search | $5.42 | 60.4% | ~$8.97 |
| Display | ~$3.43 | 31.9% | ~$10.75 |
| Facebook (traffic) | $0.60 | 20.2% | ~$2.97 |
CPCs from LocaliQ [1][3][4]; engagement rates from Siege Media’s GA4 benchmarks by channel [9] (paid social used for Facebook). The two datasets come from different samples, so treat these as rough comparisons.
How can you lower your cost per visitor?
Pay for the visitor you need, not the cheapest click: match the channel to your goal, then measure cost per engaged session and cost per lead, not cost per click.
- Match channel to intent: search for buyers ready to act, social and native for reach and testing.
- Improve conversion rate first: doubling it halves your cost per lead without raising spend.
- Track cost per engaged session in GA4 with UTM-tagged campaigns.
- Exclude low-quality placements, apps and countries that send unengaged traffic.
- Test with small budgets on several channels before scaling the one with the best cost per lead.
Want to test traffic at a fixed price?
Netotraffic plans start from $5 per 1,000 unique visitors, delivered through native ad placements and trackable in GA4 with your own UTM tags. It’s a different channel from search or social, so compare it on engagement and conversions. See traffic plans.
Methodology and sources
We compiled cost benchmarks from LocaliQ/WordStream’s 2026 search, Facebook and display reports, Meta’s quarterly results, and the official help pages of LinkedIn and TikTok, and checked every figure against its original source page on October 7, 2026. Benchmarks reflect advertisers using those platforms, mostly in the US, and your costs will vary by targeting, competition and season. Where a benchmark doesn’t publish an overall average (display), we calculated a simple mean of its industry figures. Calculations marked “Netotraffic analysis” are our own and show the formula used.
